Missions:
- Create videos about Optimism
- Videos or video content?
- Host Optimism Community Events
- Host Events with onchain attestations on Optimism
- Host Optimism Community Events
- Host Events about Optimism
- Create consensus game for RetroPGF
I think simply making a project like Host Events about Optimism or Facilitated with Optimism would be good here and perhaps better than something specific like a gameshow or networking event. Can keep the mission proposal simpler and then propose more particular later.
Thanks for the suggestions! Another option is to specify “Improve impact evaluation process for RetroPGF.” This might not include deciding allocations as much, but it would be more specific and that specificity might help.
On a related note, we recently published OF 8 after thinking for a while about the thumbnail and description, and thinking about directly inspired by a Green Pill episode where Jonas (the organizer of RetroPGF) said the he’s looking for simple signals to measure impact. I made a note to follow up about this in the governance post for enhancing RetroPGF with Optimism Fractal soon.
You can see the videos below and some recent thoughts about promoting Optimism Fractal as a way to improve impact evaluation:
Tadas and I also shared a bunch of messages about the mission to improve RetroPGF in the comments section of the feedback shared by L2Beat this week. You can check it out here if you want: https://www.notion.so/edencreators/Feedback-about-Mission-Request-Proposals-from-Kzrysztof-during-L2Beat-Office-Hours-January-9th-776282363c9542bf8b4f7122011a8b48?pvs=4
Here is a spreadsheet of Missions proposed. So far the budget isn’t close to being met and there’s not many mission proposals made yet, so there’s a lot of opportunity for us to make mission proposal(s)

Regarding the mission request to improve the RetroPGF review process,
Vlad came up with an interesting idea to measure the success of a mission based on the usage of lists by badgeholders. The mission could be considered successful if x amount of badgeholders use a list and/or x amount of OP is allocated via the list. Measuring missions in this way with lists could provide an objective, measurable metric that is difficult to game and accurately rewards the creator(s) of the list (or list making tool). This can work with the idea of a list being created according to Respect earned at Optimism Fractal and enabling Respect holders to select a RetroPGF project to endorse (or configure a 0xSplit across multiple projects).
Additionally, surveys could be distributed (and perhaps incentivized) to people in the collective and votes could be weighted according to metrics (like if they voters are badgeholders or applicant)s. This could work well as there are many attestations in the superchain that could be used to prove unique humanness , but also introduces some complexity and could potentially be gamed. It might be worth using a tool like DeForm, JokeRace, and/or Respect Games to create this kind of subjective, measurable metric.
I’m going to speak with L2Beat again on Tuesday at 15 UTC and would be happy to present any ideas for mission requests then, and/or we can post requests for mission request sponsorships on the forum. I’m also thinking about making a mission request to Host Optimism Community Events which could provide incentives for people use to our tools and planning to publish the Optimism Fractal Notion Page in the Optimism Fractal Discord before today’s event.

Project to create a mission:
Missions
Host Optimism Events
Create Optimism Shows
These might be better tiltes for missions because they are more general and broad. They allow people to make shows and events specifically focusing on optimism or about other topics with some focus on optimism.
The whole show or event doesn’t need to focus on optimism to bring value to the collective - if someone can make a show or event mentions optimism as a sponsor or speaks about it briefly while also providing value for an audience in a different way then this can be very helpful for the collective. For example, rosmari or me might want to make a show like this that isn’t totally focused on optimsim.
Or If they can make an event (such as Aquadac or art fractal or Spanish speaking fracfal) that doesn’t focus too much on optimism but mentions it and uses our software, then that could also bring a lot of value fo the collective .
When the mission is broad with a low baseline amount , then people can propose higher rewards for different shows and events that feature more on optimism. This can help grow the collective and give me ways to invite people
Hey all,
I meant to mention this during our meeting yesterday. I’m preparing to make mission requests . There is 9 million OP designated for this season of missions, which you can read about here. I’m thinking about proposing missions for both developers to build with the Respect Game and community leaders to host events with the Respect Game. There’s 6 days left until the deadline (though missions should be proposed asap because they also need to be approved by a top delegate by that time). If anyone has any ideas for mission request proposals or would like to craft a proposal to fund your work, let me know And I’d be happy to help
Hodlon created retrospective. If anyone here would like to have write access to the page then send me a message with your Notion email . Feel free to make new projects or add your thoughts or comments
Move the mission requests project to optimism fractal
- reputation based tokens
Post in the Optimism Fractal Chat About Missions
- In addition to linking the entire notion site, I think I also should link the first six projects as well as to this in the discord as a link to notion
- It probably makes sense to spend some time improving the projects
- ie rename the project about hats protocol and organize it with better headers and/or tasks
